AFS-USA Outreach to Educators Events in NY and WA
This Fall, the School Outreach Unit and Outreach to Educators Task Force provided seed money to volunteer teams around the country who were interested in working with global educators to create sustainable AFS/School partnerships. We are excited to report on two out of eight outstanding events that took place during the past few months. More events will be featured in the upcoming Spring issue of the AFS-USA Global Classroom.

Global Education Coalition of NYC (GEC-NYC) Global Education Open House at UNICEF-USA
The Global Education Coalition of New York City (GEC-NYC) hosted its second annual Global Education Open House at the offices of UNICEF-USA in New York City in early October. 57 educators attended, 8 of whom were from GEC-NYC partner organizations. The afternoon consisted of a global education resource fair, followed by the viewing of a powerful UNICEF documentary about human trafficking called “Not My Life.”
